Your role
The UBS Investment Banking Development Challenge offers students a hands-on experience simulating a real-life transaction, providing insight into what a career as an analyst at one of Australia’s leading investment banks could look like.
Your team
Throughout the case competition, you’ll be guided by country, sector, and product teams within our Global Banking (GB) business. We provide coverage, advisory, capital markets, and financing solutions for corporate and financial institutions across Australia and beyond.
Your expertise
We’re looking for students in Australia who:
are in their penultimate year of study, graduating at the end of 2027
demonstrate values that align with ours: hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated, and collaborative
are strategic thinkers with strong communication and analytical skills
We welcome students from all academic disciplines, though an interest in the financial industry is essential. We’re keen to see what sets you apart — whether it’s leading a fundraising event, participating in competitive sports, or stepping outside your comfort zone to tackle a challenging subject. Your program
The 2-week Investment Banking Development Challenge is designed to engage students from both finance and non-finance backgrounds. The program includes workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions to help you prepare for a case study presentation. Students who perform strongly throughout the challenge may be invited to join a formal mentor program running from May to December. Participants will also have the opportunity to be fast-tracked into the early recruitment process for our 2026–27 Summer Internship Program within the UBS Sydney office.

Once you submit your CV and most recent academic transcript. you'll receive instructions to complete online assessments. This must be completed by 12pm (AEST) 4 May 2026.
If you pass the online assessments you will then be invited to complete a video interview.
