Other Information: 0.5 Music/Band teacher
Responsibilities:
Teaches skills in music to understand/appreciate harmony and explorations in music to elementary pupils
Plans and executes a balanced music program and organizes class time so that preparation, rehearsal, and
instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time
Provides individual and small group instruction to adapt the music curriculum to the needs of each pupil
Qualifications:
Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
Bachelor of Music required
Orff Training would be considered an asset
Previous experience teaching Middle Years Music and Band
Must have excellent organizational and classroom management skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with students and parents/guardians
Experience working with students with additional academic and behavioural needs
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications
As a condition of employment, all new hires must complete a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable
sector search, and child abuse registry check as part of the hiring process.
Salary & benefits for this position will be administered in accordance with the SRSD/SRTA collective bargaining
agreement (CBA).
