Job Description: Assistant Dean of Restorative Practices
Reporting to: School Principal or another administrator as designated by the Principal
FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-exempt, 11 month

Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Training
Behavior Intervention and Implementation Training
Provide coaching and support to colleagues.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, instructional assistants, administration, and special educators to design and execute Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, including behavioral support and safety plans.
Conduct classroom observations to support teachers; monitor the implementation of restorative practices and classroom culture.
Attend Weekly Check-In Meetings with the Behavior Support Team.
Attend Grade-Level Meetings.
Seek out professional development opportunities.
Develop and maintain relationships with school partners and outside student services.
Attending and leading school professional development.
Develop and maintain relationships with school partners and outside student services.
Any other duties as assigned.
What you’ll Bring
Minimum:
Diploma or GED required
Strong oral and written communication skills, including advocacy skills
Ability to connect and build relationships with students and their families.
Experience using data-management systems.
Experience working in a fast-moving environment; crisis management experience
Desired (but not required) in order of importance:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (highly desired)
Two years of urban teaching, childcare, child development, or child-centered community organization experience (highly desired)
Experience working with youth from historically under-served communities (highly desired)
Restorative Practices experience (highly desired)
Spanish or Korean Fluency (highly desired)
Bilingual Spanish or Korean (highly desired)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is generally expected to work indoors in typical school and office environments. This position involves:

Occasional exposure to outdoor elements such as sun, precipitation and wind or wet/humid surroundings.
Occasional/ exposure to loud noise, fumes, smoke, dust.

Speaking and hearing are essential to the communication needs of the position; constant hearing and speaking in person and on the phone, via remote video teleconferencing platforms.
Must be able to be physically present at the worksite and occasionally travel for meetings or conferences.
