XPONENT is looking for a chef-partner, who can take on a role that combines their skills in cooking with those of managing the kitchen and contributing to broader business decisions.
Role of a Chef as a Partner:
Culinary Leadership: As a chef-partner, the chef will be responsible for leading the kitchen team, menu development, and ensuring high-quality food preparation. They would be involved in designing the menu, sourcing ingredients, and overseeing the day-to-day cooking operations.
Creative Direction: The chef will have significant influence over the restaurant’s culinary identity. He/She will shape the restaurant’s brand and concept through the style of cuisine, the atmosphere they want to create, and the dining experience they offer.
Operational Decisions: Beyond the kitchen, the chef-partner will be involved in decisions like restaurant layout, staffing, operational procedures, and marketing strategies. His/Her culinary expertise will help in choosing dishes that will resonate with customers and contribute to profitability.
Financial Responsibility: Depending on the agreement, the chef-partner will share in the financial responsibilities of the restaurant, such as managing the budget, controlling food costs, and ensuring the business remains profitable. He/She will also have a say in pricing strategies, menu costs, and vendor relationships.
Business Development: He/She will work with the other business owner to build the restaurant’s brand, expand its customer base, and plan for growth, such as opening additional locations or offering catering services.
