Responsibilities
Work from heat treat specifications, charts, tables, shop orders, and written or verbal instructions
Start up all equipment at beginning of shift or after emergency shut down
Manually regulate flow of parts from feed table and position on hearth, visually checking for obvious defects
Periodically check hardness of treated parts
Adjust temperatures, time cycles, and feed to control variables such as material differences to maintain product quality
Observe instruments such as thermometers, pressure gauges and flow meters
Control generating equipment by checking dew point and adjusting air/gas flow to maintain quality
Move treated parts to finishing area
Report faulty equipment, defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor
Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition
Perform other related duties as assigned or directed which may require more than the normal shift hours or work week to meet company needs
Perform routine work, set up and equipment adjustment
Perform operations in the Heat Treat department

What You Will Do
