Purpose & Objectives
Production Services (PS) is a department inside SAP Product Engineering COO Development Services with a presence in more than 5 countries delivering world class software assembly & logistic services for the entire SAP and SAP supported development environments.
PS is an integral part of SAP & responsible for entire build & release technology topics and provides software life cycle management services - from planning to end of maintenance. In short, every byte of software has to pass through PS to reach our 183,000 customers worldwide.
The mission of ABAP Release Engineering Services teams inside PS is to provide end to end release assembly, maintenance & software logistic services for all SAP products for Cloud and On-Premise, to ensure high quality according to SAP product and process standards, and to ensure delivery to our customers on time. This includes S/4 HANA, IBP, ByD, C4C, SCP, Enhancements packs, SAP ABAP Add-ons, server SP’s, custom developed projects, RDS & Best Practices packages etc.,
Release Engineering for Cloud requires a fast action across all stakeholders to meet Customer demands, to ensure software with ++.+++% credible quality and uptime. To enable a smooth DevOps to provide a quick response to customers, we need a smooth and seamless communication of process status across parties, anytime, anywhere. We would be building some applications in line to this for the various parties/teams involved in the cloud world.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
You will work in a highly agile environment with strategic relevance to drive new innovations and tools that improve the productivity of cloud developers and production services.
Our key expectations would be
· Contribute to the aligned and consistent design and/or architecture of a product, part of a product or a specific architecture subject
· Evaluate architecture risks and contributes to effort estimation of backlog items
· Translates product requirements into technical requirements and system language
· Drives alignment of designs in accordance with the defined architecture (Architecture Concept Document, Guidelines, Standards)
· Work on POC’s to take appropriate design decisions.
· Identifies opportunities for reuse of software parts
· Identifies improvements and innovations in development processes and methodologies.
· You work closely together with development, quality management, release management, central infrastructure teams, gaining a strong network within the organization. With a wide opportunity to collaborate worldwide complex topics require your passion for customers and people and keeps your daily business exciting

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES :
• 4-8 Years of Strong programming background with good technical skills on SAP UI5/ABAP/CDS/ODATA, FIORI Smart Templates, etc.
• End-to-end understanding of development processes.
• Ability to transfer business requirement into a realizable technical requirement.
• Capable of driving architectural topics for the product, coming up with robust designs, ensuring architectural feasibility, etc.
• Good experience on architectural concepts, patterns, design principles.
• Good Technical, Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
• Very good knowledge on SAP Product Standards and make sure that the architectural design adheres to it.
• Capable of conducting Code Reviews, Code Inspections and other quality relevant exercises
• Very good communication skills.
Additionally, experience on following will be advantage
•Knowledge of Cloud Development and Maintenance Processes
•Knowledge of SCP services
•Experience in independently handling of project & Release management or Software Production processes
