Primary objective
Manage and coordinate the professional development and training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners, across Top End
Population and Primary Health Care regions.

Context Statement
Having recent remote area nursing experience and a background in providing education, this role provides education, training, clinical and systems
advice and support to promote continual improvement of clinical and operational remote area health services in line with Departmental policies
and procedures across the Health Centres of the Top End. Experience driving a manual vehicle and a current NT driver's licence and a willingness
and ability to travel by road or light aircraft to remote communities for negotiated periods is required to fulfil the inherent responsibilities of this
role. There is an expectation that this role will provide interprofessional education support to remote health centres. This position reports to the
Education Manager Top End Population and Primary Health Care.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. In collaboration with the Chief Aboriginal Health Practitioner, professional leads, plan, develop, implements, and evaluate clinical education

and professional development for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner profession within Top End Population and
Primary Health Care.

2. Provides advice, recommendations, and education to individuals and groups, including healthcare consumers and staff with diverse
requirements, via a range of methods. Effectively uses adult learning principles.

3. Engage with training providers and other training and educational stakeholders, including multidisciplinary health educational teams to ensure
the delivery of consistent and coordinated training.

4. Provide advice on the design and development of education which is inclusive of; adult learning principles; student clinical placements;
traineeships; graduate programs; national safety and quality standards; clinical audits; accreditation requirements; professional capabilities and
standards.

5. Promote and follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Current registration with AHPRA as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner with no conditions.
2. Minimum AQF level 7 as per NTPS Aboriginal Health Practitioner 2022-2025 Enterprise Agreement and/or signed learning agreement

demonstrating a commitment to achieve this.
3. Demonstrated experience providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care practice as an advanced practitioner across

diverse settings.
4. Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate education programs to meet organisational needs and/or address

new and emerging developments.
5. Demonstrated use of effective communication skills to maximise productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and

facilitate a positive learning environment across the practice area.
6. Demonstrates and applies highly developed knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural issues, influences and sensitivities that

influence healthcare and delivery of education programs.
