The Role
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Academic Counselor to join our student services team in the education sector. The Academic Counselor will play a crucial role in providing guidance and support to students, assisting them in achieving their academic and personal goals. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of educational pathways, and the ability to foster positive relationships with students and parents.
Responsibilities
• Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to assess their academic strengths, weaknesses, interests, and goals.
• Provide personalized guidance to students on course selection, academic planning, and career pathways.
• Assist students in developing educational plans that align with their aspirations and future career opportunities.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student academic concerns and provide appropriate interventions.
• Help students navigate academic challenges, study strategies, time management, and effective learning techniques..
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, counseling sessions, and academic progress.
• Utilize technology tools and educational resources to enhance counseling services and student engagement.
• Monitor and track student academic performance, attendance, and behavior, providing timely interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with the career counseling team to guide students in exploring potential career paths and higher education options.
Ideal Profile
Qualifications
• An Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in any related field may be preferred
• 0-1 years of experience for entry-level positions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and time management abilities
• Ability work long hours during peak recruiting seasons
• Passion for education and a deep understanding of the admissions process
• A positive and enthusiastic personality with a knack for building rapport with students.
