About the Role
Glencoe Institute of Higher Education invites expressions of interest from qualified and experienced academic professionals to join our academic team as Academic Staff.
This role is responsible for the delivery of high-quality teaching and assessment within approved courses and subjects, ensuring alignment with the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF 2021), the ESOS Act 2000, the National Code 2018, and TEQSA requirements. Academic Staff play a central role in upholding academic standards, supporting student success, and contributing to the Institute’s quality assurance and continuous improvement processes.
Position Summary
The Academic Staff member:
Delivers teaching and assessment in accordance with approved course and subject documentation.
Ensures assessment practices are fair, valid, reliable, and appropriately moderated.
Upholds academic integrity and ethical scholarship, including the responsible use of artificial intelligence and educational technologies.
Supports student engagement, participation, progression, and attainment.
Contributes to quality assurance, scholarly activity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Operates within the Institute’s academic governance framework and complies with Institute policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver teaching activities in accordance with approved subject outlines, learning outcomes, and teaching schedules.
Design, administer, and mark assessments aligned with approved assessment tasks, marking criteria, and moderation requirements.
Participate in assessment moderation processes to ensure consistency, fairness, and maintenance of academic standards.
Provide timely, constructive, and meaningful feedback to students to support learning and progression.
Maintain accurate academic records and documentation in accordance with Institute policies and procedures.
Promote academic integrity and ethical scholarship, including transparent and responsible use of artificial intelligence and educational technologies.
Support inclusive, equitable, and student-centred teaching practices.
Engage in quality assurance, subject review, and continuous improvement activities as required.
Participate in scholarly activity and professional development appropriate to the discipline and teaching responsibilities.
Contribute positively to the Institute’s academic culture, governance processes, and reputation.
Comply with all Institute policies and procedures applicable to academic staff responsibilities.
Selection Criteria
Essential Requirements
Qualifications at least one Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level higher than the course being taught, or equivalent professional or industry experience.
Demonstrated capability to deliver teaching and assessment in alignment with approved subject outlines and institutional requirements.
Demonstrated understanding of academic integrity, assessment standards, and moderation practices within a regulated higher education environment.
Demonstrated capacity to maintain professional currency and engage in scholarly activity relevant to the discipline.
Ability to support student engagement and progression through inclusive and student-centred teaching approaches.
Strong communication skills, professional judgement, and collaborative capability.
Appointment is subject to appropriate probity and integrity checks in accordance with Institute policies and procedures.
Compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF 2021), ESOS legislative framework, and National Code 2018 requirements relevant to teaching and assessment responsibilities.
Commitment to upholding academic integrity, professional conduct, and ethical practice.
Capacity to use approved learning technologies and learning management systems to support teaching delivery and student engagement.
Eligibility to work in Australia and meet employment verification requirements.
Desirable Attributes
Experience teaching within an Australian higher education or regulated tertiary education provider.
Experience contributing to assessment moderation, curriculum review, or quality assurance processes.
Demonstrated familiarity with TEQSA regulatory expectations.
Evidence of ongoing scholarly or professional engagement relevant to the discipline.
Experience working within a non-university higher education provider.
