Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become an integral part of the NMIT Aviation School at our Nelson Campus. We are looking for a permanent full-time 1.0 FTE (36 hours) Aviation Engineering tutor with a broad range skills and knowledge in maintenance and engineering to teach on our Aviation engineering programmes. We are currently looking for two Aviation tutors, please our other postion being advertised. Please apply seperately.
The key responsibilities for the role are:
Co-ordination of teaching and learning activities
Planning, organizing, delivering, and assessing course content (This includes theory and practical, work and study skills)
Assessing and supporting learners to improve their literacy and numeracy skills
Managing learners progress towards completion of qualifications
Helping learners to plan for and move into the next step on their training or career pathway
Keeping accurate learner records and completing paperwork to a high standard
About you / He kōrero mōu
The ideal applicant would have practical experience as an Aeronautical Maintenance, with very good knowledge in systems that could include weight and balance, aerodynamics, structures, mechanical systems, electrical fundamentals, flight controls, propulsion.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Aircraft maintenance experience with an appropriate trade qualification such as NZCAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License or RNZAF/Allied Military Trade Training qualifications.
Skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that align to NZCAA Fit and Proper Person criteria
It is desirable that you have teaching experience and an adult teaching and assessment qualification however this is not essential as full training will be given
