About the role
Our growing team is looking for a SAS Functional Lead!
As a SAS Functional Lead, you will independently lead the development efforts by conveying the vision to an Agile delivery team, outlining and prioritizing work based on business value. Apply SAS functional expertise to identify product gaps and assess solution designs in alignment with business and functional requirement You will be the primary point of contact for the Agile team for information, prioritization, and decision-making. You will be part of a specialized squad aimed at creating and enhancing the functionalities of our SAS IFRS 17 Engine.
What you'll do here:
• Apply SAS functional expertise to identify product gaps and assess solution designs in alignment with business and functional requirement.
• Establish standards for functional requirements, ensuring comprehensive understanding and thorough documentation of project requirements.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to address potential risks.
• Utilize decision trees to aid in complex decision-making processes and evaluate various options.
• Monitors performance and recommend schedule changes or resource additions. Ensures business objectives and targets are met through data analytics, and feedback.
• Discovers and proposes new product ideas & design, develop concepts to strategically enhance existing products or product extensions.
• Define the delivery roadmap for the projects relating to SAS IFRS17 Engine, ensuring stakeholder interests are represented in the release. Maintain communication with stakeholders and senior management as needed.
• Responsible for the business aspects of the project, ensuring the right product is being built in the proper sequence and released on schedule.
• Lead the agile process by managing sprint and capacity planning, project prioritization, backlog, maintaining JIRA, and dashboard creations.
• Ensure alignment of all PO Squads (developers, designers, and testers) with the project's or program's vision.
• Lead, plan, track, and be accountable for all phases of the product's lifecycle, from project inception to release.
What you bring to the table:
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent education and experience.
• SAS product experience required.
• Experience working with JIRA.
• Product Owner experience, as asset.
• Good at coordinating, planning and prioritization.
• Experience working with Accounting, Finance, or Actuarial stakeholders, as asset.
• Ability to communicate technical terminologies in non-technical language and vice versa.
• Very strong technical orientation with good problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical skills, insight and discipline.
• Diplomacy, ability to influence, and ability to develop and maintain relationships.
• High sense of ownership, proactive and autonomous.
• Persevere and navigate to find solutions when faced with challenges.
• Experience and knowledge in the insurance field is an asset.
• Agile Project management experience (Scrum mode) is an asset.
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As an Acceleration Centre, Salesforce Specialist, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Working in a team environment with people from multiple backgrounds and skill sets.
• Working directly with various stakeholders including end-users with collecting requirements/feedback directly from stakeholders and integrating that into the system.
• Ability to maintain and enhance the data model, user interface, business logic, and security for custom applications.
• Support enhancement and deployment of custom functionalities using various salesforce tools such as Salesforce Apex and Visualforce, all on a bespoke force.com platform.
• Estimating level of effort for activities and conducting post-implementation support activities (e.g, scope and impact management).
• Ability to maintain and enhance dashboards, user interface, business logic, and security for custom applications and support development activities, working closely under the supervision of the team leads.
• Be a part of the Incident, Problem, Change and Release management processes as required.
• Additional responsibilities could be assigned such as working as a backup scrum master.

• Proven ability to think creatively and critically in a problem-solving environment; to quickly troubleshoot critical issues and come up with unique and innovative solutions and to use various debug tools to speed investigation.
• Experience with virtual team collaboration applications (ex. MS Teams, Google Meet, Mural, Asana, Jamboard etc.)
• Knowledge of ongoing integration and deployment support approaches and tools.
• Knowledge in combining Salesforce with external, 3rd party systems will be an asset.
• Experience working with front end technologies (eg React, Backbone, etc) will be an asset.
• Salesforce Certification would be considered an asset such as Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder or Salesforce Certified Platform Developer.
• When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset.
