Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accessibility Engineer to join our team at Zeus Learning. This role is critical in ensuring that our digital products meet the highest standards of web accessibility, enabling an inclusive experience for all users.
The Senior Accessibility Engineer will lead accessibility testing efforts, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with clients to deliver comprehensive reports and remediation strategies.
Conduct thorough accessibility testing across various web-based products and modules to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Identify accessibility issues and provide detailed reports, including actionable remediation recommendations.
Review and validate accessibility testing performed by junior engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to best practices.
Presentation of daily reports and updates to clients, clearly communicating findings and proposed solutions.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement accessibility improvements and ensure seamless integration into development workflows.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience in web accessibility testing.
Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of assistive technologies, including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dragon Professional, and similar tools.
Strong understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), Section 508, and EN 301 54+.
Testing Proficiency: Proven ability to test and evaluate digital products for accessibility compliance across multiple modules and platforms.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and professionally to clients and stakeholders.
Leadership: Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior team members, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex accessibility issues and propose effective, practical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in accessibility (e.g., IAAP CPACC, WAS, or equivalent).
Experience working with diverse client-facing projects or teams.
Familiarity with automated accessibility testing tools and their integration into development pipelines.
