Join Optus as an Account Director and dive into the opportunity to lead the strategic business relationship for a major existing Federal Government client. This role represents an investment by Optus in the future growth of this major account. Optus’ aim is to play a greater and more influential role in both the transformation and development of this account.

In addition to being the Executive Account representative and the Sales and Business engagement Lead, you will also be responsible for growing and maintaining the account, ultimately accountable for developing true executive level relationships within the Department and C-Level relationships with our business partners. You will provide leadership and guidance to other resources required to lead or influence revenue, costs, capability development, programme development and delivery. And that is just the beginning.

You will lead across the whole account, and be responsible for the achievement of the accounts growth strategy through all aspects of the business. Including leading a cross-functional, yet virtual, management team covering business development, management of sales activities and delivery of product/services leading to profitability and growth in line with the Annual Operating Plan. In this role you will report directly to the Head of Government and will be based out of our Canberra Office.

Your day in the life as a Director at Optus

Lead and inspire a team that builds and maintains Customer Satisfaction through the development of broad customer.
Develop Strategic Account Plans and Opportunity Plans as required, indicating specific initiatives in the RUN, CHANGE, TRANSFORM structure.
Engage with the account leaders, where you will be listening and creating solutions tailored to their needs. Surrounded by your team to build the solution. Leading to growth whilst balancing the relationship to maintain a positive and mutually beneficial partnership.
Lead transformation efforts and programmes on behalf of the account. Nurturing outstanding partners to achieve business results efficiently and reliably.

Your skills to pay the bills

A wealth of experience in a Government Business environment. This experience may be in customer service / sales / technical / marketing or finance roles.
A high level of intuition for business with the tried ability to communicate efficiently with C level management within a large, sophisticated organisation.
Highly strategic, due to size of account and overarching accountability. You represent the entire brand; encompassing delivery and the broader relationship.
