Responsibilities
Specializing in New York Labor Law and handling high-exposure claims, this is a unique opportunity for an accomplished liability adjuster who thrives on complexity, strategic negotiation, and high-stakes scenarios. As part of our Major Case Unit, you will play a vital role in managing some of the most challenging and impactful commercial general liability claims within our organization.
As a Senior Liability Adjuster, you will:
• Oversee large and catastrophic losses with thorough investigations and strategic outcomes.
• Analyze construction contracts and insurance policies to assess coverage and identify risk transfer opportunities.
• Develop negotiation and settlement strategies for cost-effective, defensible outcomes.
• Conduct in-depth investigations to differentiate covered from uncovered exposures.
• Collaborate with panel counsel to shape litigation strategies, prepare for hearings, and advocate for insureds.
• Review medical records, expert reports, and evidence to bolster case positions.
• Set accurate indemnity and expense reserves on complex, high-exposure claims.
• Ensure timely and precise payments, maintaining financial accuracy.
• Interview insureds, claimants, and witnesses to gather essential claim intelligence.
• Occasionally travel for mediations, trials, hearings, and on-site conferences.
Qualifications
We seek a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing complex NY Labor Law matters, particularly those with exposure exceeding $500,000. The ideal candidate will possess:
• Over 10 years of experience in handling Commercial General Liability (CGL) and BOP liability claims.
• At least 5 years of specialization in New York Labor Law with significant loss exposure.
• A Bachelor's degree.
• Strong knowledge of coverage and the ability to interpret insurance policies and construction contracts.
• Proven capabilities in risk transfer analysis and coverage prioritization.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in claims technology.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• A collaborative approach when working with counsel, experts, and internal partners.
Salary: $90,000 - $160,000 + bonus
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
This role may be based out of any of our office locations, including:
New York, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Conshohocken, PA; Wilkes Barre, PA; Alpharetta, GA; Rosemont, IL; Plano, TX; Scottsdale, AZ; and Rancho Cordova, CA.
