Job description
The backend (PHP and WordPress) Developer role at One.com is a strategic position that helps develop and enhance our scalable, secure, and bug-free products that generate higher customer satisfaction. This role works closely under the guidance of the group head, team lead and product manager. Under standard Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps procedures, selected candidates will play an important role in our product strategy by developing, and designing various features of the products as per the roadmap in place. They will be responsible for ensuring the product runs seamlessly and generates a great customer experience. Further, adhering to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), candidates will also review the overall product eco-system and will work closely with the QA team to make sure code quality, code debt, unit testing, and defect densities are kept under acceptable criteria.
Responsibilities:
• Developing and maintaining website backend in PHP or WordPress including MySQL database.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services.
• Design and implement custom plugins and themes for WordPress.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Development of responsive and SEO-friendly web pages on WordPress from Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch etc.
• Optimize website performance and scalability.
• Ensure the security of the web websites by implementing best practices.
• Troubleshoot, test, and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high code quality standards.
Requirements:
• Experience in web development with WordPress and PHP.
• Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e. g., Git).
• Understanding of responsive and SEO-friendly web design.
• Strong debugging skills.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience with Jira as a project management tool.
• Mandatory skills: PHP, WordPress, JavaScript, MySQL, Web APIs.
• Optional skills: HTML, CSS, Jira, Confluence.
• Behavioural skills: Accountability, Discipline, Attention to detail, Planning and Organization, Effective Communication, Quality Focus, Decision Making, Problem Solving.
• Candidate must have completed B. Tech. or B. E. with Computer Science or Information Technology specialization.
• Candidate must have 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in PHP and WordPress.
