Health Within Reach Foundation (HWRF) is a non-profit Section 8 Company dedicated to making quality healthcare universally accessible, inclusive, and affordable through innovative solutions such as tech-enabled mobile healthcare clinics and mammography screening vans.
Position Overview:
The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements of the foundation. This individual will coordinate with external Chartered Accountants (CA) and Company Secretaries (CS) to maintain financial transparency and legal compliance while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance existing financial and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Financial Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Monitor budgets and expenditures for ongoing projects
Assist in the preparation and submission of grant financial reports as required
Proactively identify areas for improvement in financial workflows and operational efficiency.
Compliance and Coordination:
Ensure timely filing of statutory returns, including TDS, Income Tax, and other regulatory filings.
Work closely with the CA for audits, financial reviews, and fund utilization certifications.
Collaborate with the CS to maintain corporate governance documentation, ROC compliance such as Board Meeting minutes, statutory registers, and compliance filings under the Companies Act, 2013.
Grant Management:
Track grant budgets and ensure alignment with project goals and financial reporting requirements.
Coordination and management for financial documentation related to CSR grants and philanthropic funding.
Administrative Duties:
Support internal and external audits.
Liaise with banks, vendors, and other financial institutions for operational needs.
Manage procurement processes for office supplies, project-related equipment, and employee & vendor contracts.
Support camps in operational capacity when required, including logistical coordination and on-ground assistance to ensure smooth camp execution.
Continuously identify and recommend improvements to streamline financial and operational processes for greater efficiency and accountability.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial management, and statutory compliance.
Experience working in non-profit or CSR-funded projects is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, including Companies Act, GST, and Income Tax regulations.
Ability to coordinate with auditors, external consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
