Job Description
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, with latitude for independent judgment, the selected candidate will perform accounting work of moderate difficulty and responsibility in FARS - Revenue & Receivables and conduct field audits and investigations. Works independently or with others in executing responsible accounting assignments following prescribed rules of procedure.
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Research and analyze tenant revenue from AS400 system and Oracle General Ledger.
Prepare journal entries, reports, account analysis, investigate and resolve any irregularities or enquiries.
Coordinate and work with the Financial Planning & Analysis, General Ledger Division and Administering Departments to verify accuracy of data.
Act as a liaison and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure all tenants’ enquiries are answered and resolved in a timely manner.
Maintains tenants’ account in AS400 to ensure accuracy and make any necessary adjustments needed.
Assist in the preparation of reports and gathering financial documents for various Depts.
Participate in the annual external audit process by providing support to team members and other departments.
Research discrepancies with vendors and tenants’ accounts and adjust accordingly.
Prepare ad hoc reports, analyses and reconciliations.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting and auditing; or
2. A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license.
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II individuals must have, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, at least one year of experience as an Accountant - Assignment Level I or at least two years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience.
Preferred Skills
1. Strong accounting and analytical skills. 2. Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel and Office suite 3. Working knowledge of the AS400 and Oracle Financial System 4. Ability to work under stringent deadlines. 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
