Job Description
• The Accountant (GST/TDS/PT) will be responsible for managing and overseeing all tax-related matters, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and Professional Tax (PT). This role involves ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, preparing and filing tax returns, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
1. GST Management
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns
• Reconcile GST input tax credit and output tax liability
• Handle GST audits and assessments
• Stay updated with changes in GST regulations and implement necessary changes in the accounting process
2. TDS Compliance
• Deduct TDS as per applicable rates and laws
• Prepare and file TDS returns within due dates
• Issue TDS certificates to vendors and employees
• Reconcile TDS receivables and payables
3. Professional Tax (PT)
• Calculate and deduct PT as per state regulations
• File PT returns and ensure timely payments
• Maintain PT records and handle PT audits
4. Legal Affairs General
• Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents and contracts
• Coordinate with legal counsel for litigation and compliance matters
• Ensure adherence to company policies and legal standards
5. Financial Reporting
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
6. Audit and Compliance
• Liaise with internal and external auditors
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
• Implement and monitor internal controls
7. Advisory and Support
• Provide tax advisory services to the management
• Support other departments with financial information and analysis
• Assist in the implementation of financial systems and software
Skill Required
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, and PT regulations and compliance
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
