We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, budgeting, payroll processing, and accounts payable/receivable management. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledgers, balance sheets, and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and analyzing financial data to identify variances and discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and external stakeholders, providing insights into company performance and financial health.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer billing, and collections, to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and preparing payroll reports for review and approval.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, forecasting cash needs, and managing banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial plans, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions to achieve financial goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, assisting in audits and providing support as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, project management, and human resources, to provide financial guidance and support for business activities.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, with the ability to apply them in a practical business setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes as needed.
