Financial Accountant
We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant with hands-on SAP experience who is excited to play a pivotal role in Mackay Sugar’s success. In this dynamic position, you will split your time between core financial responsibilities, including international tax compliance, and risk reporting whilst leading the administration team. Key Responsibilities
Team Management: Responsible for the accounts payable and payroll functions.
Risk Reporting & Derivatives: Prepare and review financial derivatives and manage back-office accounting.
Financial Reporting & Compliance: Assist with preparing monthly financial reports and supporting other accounting functions as required.
Tax Compliance: Work on international tax processes to ensure compliance.
Statutory Compliance: Ensure financial systems comply with FBT, Workcover, payroll tax, etc.
Audit & Insurance: Assist with audits and insurance renewals, liaising with external partners.
Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to enhance financial systems and processes for efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA/CPA preferred).
5+ years of financial experience, with SAP experience a must; international tax and derivatives exposure is desirable.
A keen interest in career growth and the drive to improve financial systems and processes.
Strong knowledge of financial systems, accounting principles, and statutory compliance (e.g., FBT, Workcover, payroll tax).
Proactive, driven, and eager to contribute to business improvements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across departments.
