We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our growing finance team and contribute to the financial integrity and strategic growth of the business.
Job Summary
This role supports the accounting function for our residential housing operations. The successful candidate will manage financial reporting, budgeting, taxation compliance, and project-related financial analysis. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and is confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with statutory and internal reporting standards.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
Track project-specific financial performance across housing developments.
Reconcile builder margins, progress claims, construction costs, and stage payments from clients and financiers.
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and corporate policies.
Assist with financial reporting to senior leadership, board meetings, and external regulators.
Conduct variance analysis on costs and revenues and contribute to feasibility modelling.
Support cash flow planning related to settlements, construction costs, and supply chain expenditure.
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and monthly GST returns in accordance with ATO requirements.
Support internal reporting to department heads, project managers, and executive leadership.
Work with the Chief Financial Officer in preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts across home building operations.
Maintain internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and audit readiness.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent (CA/CPA qualified or currently undertaking).
1+ years’ experience in accounting roles within financial services, real estate, or construction sectors.
Solid knowledge of Australian accounting standards.
Proficiency in accounting and costing software such as Xero, MYOB, Sage, TM1, Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with excellent attention to details.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Eligible for sponsorship under the TSS Subclass 482 Visa (if applicable).
