The Accountant, Treasury Operations is primarily responsible for day to day activity relating to premium billing operations, participate in the support of our internal customers in Customer Solutions with payment corrections and pay plan updates, general ledger journal entries, suspense and bank account reconciliations and involvement in daily claim recovery deposit process. The candidate will also be tasked with partnering with the Treasury Manager to lead business transformation and change management initiatives within the Treasury.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works independently with judgment to communicate up when appropriate

Build a solid understanding of how each billing transaction affects general ledger, bad debt and our internal and external customers.

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

Prepare daily bank reconciliations to ensure Workday disbursements in balanced to bank activity. Assist in improving processes to prevent re-occurrence of discrepancies

Involvement in daily claim recovery deposit process.

Prepare daily reconciliation of incoming premiums to ensure billing source system, cash in bank and general ledger are in sync. Research/resolve any discrepancies via working with IT and/or external vendors.

Participate in automated suspense reconciliation process. Research/resolve reconciling items in both claim and premium suspense accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university

0-2 years of related experience preferred

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Proficient personal computer skills including MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, etc.

SALARY RANGE

The pay range for this position is $56,000 to $76,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
