About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accountant to join our clients team at the Port Kembla based business. This role will provide financial accounting, reporting, planning, analysis, and compliance support for the business and its operations.

Key Responsibilities Summary:
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including ATO BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, and annual premium returns.
- Prepare data for annual tax returns and financial statutory accounts for submission to external accountants.
- Complete month-end and year-end financial close, including balance sheet reconciliations and income/expense account reviews.
- Prepare monthly financial and KPI reports.
- Assist with the preparation and forecasting of financial reports and the annual budget.
- Ensure a strong focus on Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) standards in all activities.
- Provide ad-hoc management accounting support to managers, board members, and staff.

Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Process-driven mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced MS Excel and Word skills are essential.
- High level of organisational and administrative capability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, from board members to operational teams.
- Commitment to personal growth and development, with potential for future leadership opportunities.

Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of post-graduate accounting experience.
- Experience with large ERP systems, preferably Oracle/JDEdwards or SAP.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- CPA or CA accredited, or in progress toward qualification.
