The Opportunity
We are looking for a confident and detail-oriented Accounting & Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our team in Saint John.
This role is primarily focused on Accounts Receivable, collections, and general accounting/bookkeeping responsibilities. We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of AR, stays organized and persistent with follow-up, and understands the importance of maintaining healthy cash flow.
The successful candidate will also manage Accounts Payable as part of the overall accounting function, while supporting month-end and day-to-day bookkeeping operations.
This is a high-ownership role that plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the continued growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of Accounts Receivable, including collections, overdue account follow-up, and payment tracking
Maintain strong customer account management and support healthy cash flow
Perform general bookkeeping and accounting duties
Assist with:
o Month-end close
o Account reconciliations
o Depreciation
o Revenue recognition
o Expense verification
o Job Costing
Manage Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and vendor communication
Process customer payments and maintain accurate financial documentation
Answer incoming calls and assist with general office/accounting inquiries
Work collaboratively with multiple departments across the company
Qualifications
Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance-related roles
Strong experience with Accounts Receivable, collections, and general accounting functions
Comfortable handling collections and difficult conversations professionally and confidently
Experience managing full-cycle bookkeeping responsibilities, including Accounts Payable
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with QuickBooks and/or HubSpot is considered an asset
Post-secondary education in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field is considered an asset
Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered
