Full job description

Key responsibilities

Financial statement preparation: Compile and prepare financial statements and management reports for clients, ensuring they comply with relevant accounting standards and reporting frameworks.

Tax compliance: Prepare and lodge a range of tax returns (income tax, BAS/IAS, GST, payroll tax, FBT) and related documentation for clients. This includes calculating tax liabilities, reviewing supporting schedules and ensuring lodgements are accurate and submitted on timerichardlloyd.com.au.

Advisory and planning: Provide proactive advice on the tax implications of business transactions (e.g., asset purchases/sales, restructures or mergers) and identify strategies to minimise tax exposure while remaining compliantrichardlloyd.com.ausleek.com.

Client management: Liaise directly with clients to gather information, answer queries and explain financial and tax concepts in a clear manner. Maintain up‑to‑date client records and ensure relevant information is captured in the firm’s systems.

Regulatory liaison: Act as a point of contact with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients, assisting with audits and resolving tax‑related queriesrichardlloyd.com.au.

Collaboration: Work closely with partners and senior accountants to support advisory projects, budgeting and cash‑flow analysis. Assist with training and mentoring junior staff as required.

Skills and attributes

Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

CA/CPA/IPA qualified or working towards qualification (desirable).

Minimum 2 year's experience in public practice accounting, with exposure to preparation of financial statements and tax lodgements for multiple entities.

Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and the ability to interpret and apply it when preparing returns and advising clientssleek.com.

Excellent analytical and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detailsleek.com.

Proficiency with cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.

Pay: $53,613.41 – $106,015.71 per year
