Founded in 1984, Häns Kissle began as the regional commissary for a small, high-end grocery chain in New England, MA, crafting fresh, upscale prepared foods and deli salads. Today we have two manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts and North Carolina.

Purpose: The Accounting Clerk supports the day-to-day financial operations of the company by performing a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks. In a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, the Accounting Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining accurate records, supporting internal controls, and ensuring timely processing of transactions related to production, inventory, and vendor payments.

Key Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner

Match, verify, and enter invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

Assist with weekly check runs and maintain vendor files

Prepare and post journal entries as needed

Support month-end and year-end closing activities

Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with company policies and food industry compliance requirements

Monitor production and inventory-related costs to ensure proper allocation and tracking

Assist with audits, both internal and external

Respond to inquiries from vendors, team members, and other departments

Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and report generation

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred

1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; experience in manufacturing or food industry a plus

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems)

Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Work Environment:

Office setting within a food manufacturing facility

Regular interaction with production, procurement, and quality departments

May require occasional visits to production or warehouse areas
