JOB PURPOSE (summary of outputs of the job)
• Responsible for financial, accounting, audit, reporting and fiscal aspects of the operations and coordination information systems and financial controls.
• Coordinate financial planning, corporate tax, loans and budget management functions.
• Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Implement commercial strategies, monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics, including management contracts and commercial compliances.
• Lead finance and accounts team of the Company.

KEY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management and Analysis:

Analyze financial statements, cash flow, cost controls and expenses to guide business leaders.

Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems.

Responsible for annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and budgets.

Simulate various financial scenarios through financial modelling and analytics to determine best course of action.

Manage term and working capital loans and ensure finance document compliances.

Oversee investments and cash flow management.

Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions; participate in purchase negotiations and finalization of maintenance contracts. Coordinate CAPEX plans.

Prepare and manage periodical reporting requirements.

Accounting & Audits:

Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting.

Manage timely preparation of statutory books of accounts, financial statements and annual reports, ensuring

conformance to regulatory accounting standards.

Ensure appropriate audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process; including internal audit programs

and related compliances.

Ensure effective internal controls are in place and take steps to enhance, where necessary, the internal control systems

Administer Company's risk management system.

Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.

Review financial and legal documentation to verify accuracy and adherence to financial regulations and acceptable

financial principles.

Monitor stores, inventory, fuel cost recoveries and review tariff invoicing.

Taxation:

Ensure timely filing of tax returns as per relevant acts & interfacing with auditors and regulatory authorities for assessments.

Manage corporate and employee taxation and all direct tax compliances.

Business Support Functions:

Support the management in business support functions, including Strategy, Capabilities (people and processes),Governance and HSSE functions.

Commercial Functions:

Manage and administer various contracts and related compliances; including, Power Purchase Agreement, Fuel Supply Agreement, Lignite Transport Agreement, Rail Transportation Agreements, Land Leases, etc.

Interface with power offtaker on dispatch and approval of generation program; manage generation and fuel supply program.

Others:

Coordinate project insurance placement as per loan covenants.

Manage and administer trust accounts.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Professional, Technical, Academic)

Essential: Qualified Chartered Accountant

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE Essential:

6+ years experience in a financial management position.

Excellent understanding of accounting principles and their application, plus superior numerical ability.

Excellent knowledge of industry & environment trends, government policy and regulatory requirements.

An intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office and financial management software.
