Description
We are in search of an Accounting Manager to join our team based in Frederick, Maryland. This role involves overseeing various accounting activities, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements within the construction industry. The successful candidate will also contribute to budgeting and forecasting tasks and staff management. This role offers a ton of growth and the opportunity to move up within an international organization.
Responsibilities
• Direct and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities
• Ensure the integrity of financial accounting systems by reviewing and approving monthly bank reconciliation statements
• Prepare and oversee the filing of monthly Sales Tax and other ad-hoc reports for senior management and auditors
• Uphold internal controls for financial reporting and validate standards for all entries
• Identify and recommend operational enhancements and stay informed about changes in IFRS and GAAP impacting the organization
• Assist with annual budget preparation and monitor project progress
• Supervise staff, set work priorities, monitor progress, provide performance feedback, and facilitate formal development plans
• Collaborate with IT for efficient, accurate financial systems and direct reviews and upgrades of financial systems
• Prepare working papers for interim and yearly audits, both internal and external, and assure compliance with CEO/CFO certification process

Requirements
• Applicant must hold a minimum of three years of experience in an accounting management role.
• Proficient knowledge in WIP Accounting is required.
• Must be capable of producing Consolidated Financial Statements.
• Prior experience in Account Reconciliation is necessary.
• Audit Management skills are essential.
• Experience in preparing Month-end Reports and Journal Entries is required.
• Proficiency in Budgeting and Forecasting is a must.
• Applicant should possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently is required.
