Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team in Houston. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment, with extensive experience in ERP systems, intercompany transactions, and cost accounting. This role is critical in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company's financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Payroll.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data within the ERP system.
Utilize ERP software (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle) to manage financial transactions and reporting.
Identify opportunities to optimize ERP system usage and enhance financial processes.
Train and support team members in effective use of the ERP system.
Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions between EDDY Pump and its subsidiaries or sister companies.
Ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and documentation requirements.
Coordinate with international accounting teams to streamline intercompany processes.
Oversee cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
Collaborate with operations and production teams to monitor manufacturing costs and improve profitability.
Analyze production costs, material costs, labor expenses, and overhead allocations.
Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Provide insightful analysis of financial results to senior management.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax filings.
Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Stay updated on accounting best practices and regulatory changes.
Lead initiatives to automate and streamline accounting operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
Strong background in ERP systems; experience with [specific ERP software, e.g., Epicor] is preferred.
Proven experience managing intercompany transactions and consolidations.
Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Familiarity with GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
