Full job description

Education:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field required.

Preferred: CPA or CPA eligible

License/

Certifications:

None

Experience:

Minimum: 5 years of accounting and financial reporting. Demonstrated experience in supervisory roles with experience in the training and development of staff.

Preferred: Experience in a health care organization

Other:

Minimum: Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls with proficiency in accounting software.

Strong organizational, leadership, time-management, and communication skills with a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to complete in-depth analysis of financial data and prepare financial reports and projections. Advanced analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement. Participate in the development and management of Fiscal Services department budgets, as well as the Health System annual budget process. PC literacy required with MS Office (word, excel and power point).

Responsibility

Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the organization's accounting functions, including recommending and implementing internal controls, policies and procedures, preparing financial reports, managing department staffing, process development and documentation, and project oversight. The Accounting Manager manages and develops the accounting team to achieve department objectives including; determining staffing needs, setting goals, planning workloads and resolving issues. As well as, interviewing, selecting, coaching and evaluating the performance of all direct reports. Promotes a constructive work environment.

Essential Job Functions:

(Maximum of the first 5 will included in the performance appraisal)

Participates in the development of systems and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations. Promptly reports area of potential non-compliance

Manages all functions relative to general ledger, general accounting and month end close

Provides timely and accurate records of the health system's assets, liabilities and financial transactions.

Coordinates activities of auditors and provide all relevant material.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation: $89,928-$118,575
