About the Agency: The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) is a state agency dedicated to helping Mississippians with disabilities to live and work independently. MDRS serves through four major programs: Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB), Office of Special Disability Programs (OSDP), and Disability Determination Services (DDS). Services also include support through Assistive Technology, the Office of Business Development and much more. About the Position: This position is available in the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services' Finance Division. Responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to, the entering of daily client service Accounts Payable transactions; working with vendors and agency employees to resolve issues or disputes with payments; compiling and reporting payment information for agency management, vendors, and other parties as needed; utilizing analytical abilities to appropriately identify, resolve, and limit the risk of errors; and other duties as assigned.**This is a TIME LIMITED position with The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services**

What you'll need to be Successful: Employee would be expected to be organized; demonstrate problem solving and analytical abilities; be able to communicate effectively; maintain a positive attitude and be a team player; have a willingness to learn; and have a penchant for being timely and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications: Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 3-5 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:High School Diploma (or equivalent), with 3-5 years of experience, and a general knowledge of computers and other computer-type equipment used in the course of day-to-day business practices. Experience with the state of Mississippi's MAGIC accounting system, and with Microsoft Excel and Word, is a plus.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick LeaveFull-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.
