CPA Sole practitioner in the Vancouver/Burnaby area requires a full time Accounting Technician.
The main focus of this practice is the preparation of compiled financial statements and tax returns for owner/manager businesses. In addition, there will be exposure to review engagements, personal tax and bookkeeping.
Under the supervision of the practitioner, you will be responsible for the following:
Preparation of compiled financial statements under CSRS 4200 and T2 corporate tax returns
Preparation of reviewed financial statements
Preparation of T1 personal tax returns
Preparation of client bookkeeping on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This will include the preparation of payroll, preparation of remittances for GST, PST, WCB and payroll.
Phone calls to CRA and various clients to deal with specific matters
Other administrative duties as required.
This position requires the candidate to have the following qualifications:
Working knowledge of Caseware and Caseview
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Working knowledge and experience with Quickbooks or Sage 50 accounting software
Working experience with Taxprep or a similar tax program
Experience working in a paperless environment would be an asset.
The position offers flexible working hours, time off between Christmas and New Years in addition to annual vacation, participation in the company medical plan, profit sharing bonuses and other benefits.
Please note that this position is NOT for students looking for experience in the CPA Pre-Approved Route or the Experienced Verification Route.
