Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Admin and Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our busy golf retail business. This is a varied role involving general office administration, financial record keeping, and support across stock management and customer service. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

Provide administrative support to management and the wider team.

Handle emails and customer enquiries, always ensuring professional communication.

Maintain digital and paper filing systems including supplier orders, invoices, and staff records.

Support with HR admin such as staff schedules, holiday tracking, and payroll documentation.

Accounts and Finance Duties:

Assist with processing purchase orders, invoices, and supplier payments.

Reconcile daily sales reports from the golf shop, online store, and custom fitting services.

Assist with bank reconciliations, petty cash, and credit card expense tracking.

Assist with preparing documentation for VAT returns and year-end accounts.

Golf Operations Support:

Update and maintain product and inventory records in retail systems.

Support marketing and promotions administration, including data entry and basic reporting.

Support Marketing on the delivery of the golf academy and junior academy, managing the diary system and correspondence.

Requirements:

Prior experience in an administrative or accounts assistant role, ideally within retail or hospitality.

Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and office software.

Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or FreeAgent (preferred).

Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable:

Interest in golf or previous experience in a golf retail or sporting goods environment.

Familiarity with retail POS systems and inventory management tools.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday with occasional flexibility during busy retail periods, such as golf season launches or promotions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
