Accounts Assistant - 6 month contract
Location: Weybridge
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a welcoming finance team in Weybridge on an interim basis. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a supportive environment and enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across the business. You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, cash management, and account reconciliations for multiple global entities.
Key responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end SAP accounts payable process for assigned legal entities, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
• Oversee daily operations of legal entity bank accounts, processing payments and employee expenses with careful attention to detail.
• Enter journal data accurately for assets, liabilities, and expenses while maintaining thorough documentation for all entries.
• Prepare weekly cash forecasts and monitor cash flow to ensure effective financial planning across multiple entities.
• Maintain balance sheet accounts by preparing detailed reconciliations and addressing any discrepancies as they arise.
• Support the preparation of management accounts by ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate at month-end.
• Provide timely information and assistance to other internal departments when required, fostering positive interdepartmental relationships.
• Assist external auditors by supplying requested documentation and explanations during audits or reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function by identifying areas for enhanced efficiency or accuracy.
Experience and qualifications:
• AAT qualified or equivalent
• Experience in accounting for a multinational business
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software, preferably SAP
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to apply problem-solving skills to identify and correct accounting discrepancies
