Description
The Head - Accounts will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our head office and multiple manufacturing plants. This role demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in financial management, a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, and the ability to provide actionable insights to guide decision-making. The ideal candidate should be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or possess an MBA in Finance, with a minimum of 15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
§ Oversee and manage financial operations, including general accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the head office and manufacturing plants.
§ Lead and manage the finance and accounting teams across the head office and manufacturing plants, providing guidance, mentorship, and supervision.
§ Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
§ Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
§ Prepare and present accurate financial statements, management reports, and analysis to provide insights on business performance to the executive team.
§ Collaborate with operational and departmental heads to assess financial implications of various business decisions and support cross-functional initiatives.
§ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets, identifying areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
§ Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
§ Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to optimize financial resources and liquidity.
§ Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, identifying trends and recommending actions for improvement.
§ Maintain compliance with all financial and accounting regulations, standards, and policies, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
§ Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and timely reporting.
§ Drive process improvements and technology enhancements to streamline financial operations and reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
§ Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or MBA in Finance from a reputable institution.
§ Minimum of 15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
§ Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, cost accounting, and inventory management.
§ Proficiency in financial software and systems, as well as advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
§ Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
§ Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a strategic mindset.
