Position Summary
The Accounts Officer supports the effective operation of the College’s financial services, with a primary focus on accounts payable. This role is responsible for processing supplier invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, responding to enquiries, and supporting broader business office functions. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy administrative environment.
Requirements
Ability to process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently within established routines and procedures.
Ability to prepare payment runs for senior leadership review and authorisation.
Experience reconciling creditor control accounts and associated general ledger accounts.
Ability to maintain accurate supplier records and audit trails within Synergetic.
Capability to manage the purchase order system in Alii, including training staff in correct usage.
Ability to respond professionally to staff and supplier enquiries and resolve issues appropriately.
Ability to assist with general business office duties, including counter enquiries, receipting payments, and supporting staff with financial processes.
Experience contributing to external reporting requirements (e.g., FBT returns, WGEA reporting, census staffing data).
Willingness to undertake additional duties as required within the business office.
Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Word and MS Excel.
Working knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting procedures.
Understanding of administrative procedures and financial systems.
Knowledge of Synergetic and Alii Systems (or willingness to learn).
Current Blue Card (Working With Children Check).
