Telethon Accounts Officer

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated accounts officer to put their skills to work for WA’s biggest and most loved charity institution.

We are looking for a highly capable, dynamic, and proactive Accounts Officer to join the enthusiastic Telethon team. This role will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations with strong attention to detail.

The right candidate will be a positive and motivated individual who is good at managing their time and priorities, has exceptional organisational skills, works well within a team as well as autonomously on both small and large projects, and is willing to jump in and assist with what needs to be done.

About Us: The Channel 7 Telethon Trust is a community-driven philanthropic organisation that currently supports more than 160 children’s charities and beneficiaries throughout the State enabling better and brighter futures for WA children and their families. Telethon proudly represents the people of Western Australia who have generously donated over $688 million since 1968, to improve the lives of our most sick, vulnerable, and disadvantaged children.

What We Need: Reporting to our Commercial, Finance & Governance Manager, the primary focus of the role is to manage all day-to-day tasks surrounding donation and fundraising revenue

Key Responsibilities:

Managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and payment tracking.
Coordinating and processing post-event donor invoicing.
Supporting merchandise accounting, including inventory and sales reconciliation.
Reconciling community fundraising income
Maintaining the customer database within MYOB, ensuring data accuracy.
Assisting with general financial administration tasks such as banking, procurement, and reconciliation.
Supporting the finance team by preparing reports and maintaining compliance with financial policies.
What You Bring:

You have exceptional attention to detail and take pride in ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions and record-keeping.
You are a proactive self-starter who takes ownership of your tasks and manages your workload independently with minimal supervision.
You have solid experience handling accounts receivable, invoicing, and general finance administration.
You possess strong organisational skills and can prioritise effectively, managing multiple deadlines without compromising quality.
You are proficient with accounting software, preferably MYOB, and comfortable working with financial databases and CRM systems including Salesforce.
You communicate clearly and professionally, fostering positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
You show initiative in identifying issues and delivering practical solutions to improve processes.
You adapt well to fast-paced and dynamic work environments, maintaining composure and productivity under pressure.
