Accounts Processing Officer
Finance Services are seeking to establish a pool of Accounts Processing Officer for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of February 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
The Finance Services Branch provides accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintenance of the Department’s asset registers, credit card management, lease administration, debt recovery, general ledger and taxation services.
The Role
Suitable applicants will monitor financial transactions in the finance and accounting system and reconcile as required, including accounting payable, accounts receivable and vendor maintenance. They will accurately process and record accounting transactions in the finance system in accordance with statutory requirements and Department policies and procedures.
Accounts Processing Officers assist with the maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, system controls and accountability mechanisms to ensure best practice. Within this role they also assist with month/year end-period closures in accordance with requirements of the Financial Management Act, Regulations, Treasurer’s Instructions, Australian Accounting Standards, Goods and Services Tax and other information.
