Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounts Receivable Clerk, located in Mumbai. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for managing and reconciling invoices, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate financial records. Additional responsibilities include processing payments, resolving billing discrepancies, and collaborating with internal teams to support financial reporting and compliance efforts. The role requires strong analytical skills for monitoring account status and preparing regular reports.
Qualifications
.Followed up overdue payments and payment plans from clients to establish good cash flow.
• Prepared and mailed invoices to customers, and documented account updates.
• Ensured accurate and audit-ready records by uploading, validating, and maintaining CODA files and bank statements.
• Recorded, monitored, and reconciled customer receipts across multiple payment terms, including Advance, CAD, DA, DP, LC, and CIS.
• Authorized telex releases to shipping lines upon full receipt of advance sale funds, and approved release of CAD documents, OBL, and other import documentation.
• Coordinated with multiple banks on Letters of Credit (LC)–related activities to support timely receivables and payment realization.
• Managed the accounts receivable (AR) process for a 3,000-account portfolio, reducing AR aging from 75 days to 45 days through improved collections and reconciliation processes.
• Managed end-to-end processing of customer refund requests in compliance with company policies, resulting in a 20% increase in customer satisfaction, and contributing to an improvement in the company's D&B rating.
• Increased efficiency of the collections process by implementing new strategies and procedures for tracking delinquent accounts.
• Approved credit and debit notes, and performed reconciliation of customer ledgers to ensure accurate accounts receivable records.
• Advised sales team members on potential customer credit risk based on past-due balances and payment history, contributing to a 10% reduction in bad debt write-offs
