Role Overview

As an Accounts/Finance Executive, you will be responsible for accurate financial recordkeeping, statutory compliance, vendor coordination, and supporting audits, while ensuring timely and reliable financial processes that support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities & Skill Requirements

1. Core Accounting & Finance Skills
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles (Indian GAAP; basic Ind AS awareness preferred)
• Maintain bookkeeping: journal entries, ledger updates, and trial balance preparation
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) workflows
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
• Track expenses and manage accrual accounting
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes

2. Taxation & Compliance (India-Specific)
• Ensure GST compliance: filing returns, input tax credit management, invoicing rules
• Calculate, file, and reconcile TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) accurately
• Understand Income Tax basics relevant to business operations
• Prepare and maintain statutory filings, including GST and TDS returns
• Adhere to compliance timelines and maintain proper documentation

3. Payroll & Statutory Knowledge
• Assist with payroll processing basics
• Knowledge of statutory contributions and compliance:
• Provident Fund (PF)
• Employee State Insurance (ESI)
• Professional Tax (PT)
• Handle salary structure components, deductions, and reimbursements

4. Tools & Software Skills
• Proficient in accounting software such as Zoho Books, Zoho Payroll, Tally ERP / Prime, and QuickBooks (if applicable)
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas, and data manipulation
• Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus

5. Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare basic financial statements: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet
• Conduct variance analysis and expense tracking
• Generate MIS reports for management review
• Support budgeting and cost control efforts

6. Audit & Documentation
• Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits
• Maintain audit trails and support statutory and tax audits

7. Attention to Detail & Accuracy
• Maintain a high level of numerical accuracy
• Identify discrepancies and proactively resolve issues
• Demonstrate strong reconciliation skills

8. Communication & Coordination
• Coordinate with internal teams such as HR, Operations, and Vendors
• Handle vendor queries and payment follow-ups efficiently
• Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats

9. Time Management & Compliance Discipline
• Manage multiple deadlines for GST, TDS, payroll, and financial closings
• Prioritize tasks effectively during high-pressure periods, such as month-end closing

10. Integrity & Confidentiality
• Handle sensitive financial and payroll information responsibly
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Good-to-Have Skills
• Basic knowledge of Ind AS / IFRS standards
• Experience with automation tools, Excel macros, or financial software customization
• Understanding of startup finance operations and processes
