Purpose of the Role
The custodian of this role will be responsible to accelerate MRPL’s growth in the organized retail space by intensifying the pace of activations in the catchment to drive business growth. This includes identifying growth opportunities, articulating clear problem areas, crafting tailor made solutions and coordinating flawless execution of the initiatives to accelerate growth.
The incumbent should possess strong analytical and strategic skills and good experience in on- ground activations to anchor this role. Excellence in Data management and analysis, efficient process management, well-executed brand initiatives, and effective collaboration with the other critical functions in the organization are a must.
Principal Responsibilities
• Develop robust activation strategies for the overall MRPL brand and its BU’s – Hypermarkets, Supermarkets and App in line with the organizational objectives
• Manage all regional marketing investments for the organization and provide a consolidated view
• Have a good understanding of marketing analytics and guide the agencies and regional marketing managers deliver on activation plans and execute strategy with clear and measurable ROI objectives by monitoring and analyzing the performance of campaigns against set KPI’s/Metrics
• Responsible for planning and tracking NOBs (No. of bills) by store and by initiatives.
• Strong focus on process and mechanisms including Footfall/No. of Bills planning backed by clear logics and activation build
• Stay ahead of the curve on innovations, best practices and latest trend on offline and hyperlocal digital media
• Leverage MRPL’s first party data for better targeting of shoppers. Manage cohorts basis business and marketing objectives
• KPIs – Number of bills, Member growth, Media efficiency – RnF, marketing spends to sales, cost per reach, spends on digital
• Communicate effectively with many cross-functional stakeholders (BU Operations and Regional Marketing teams) to ensure full support from relevant teams in executing the strategy
Education and Experience
• MBA from top business school preferred
• 5-7 years of post MBA experience
• Experience of working with activation agencies & media partners, platforms, multiple local, regional & national stakeholders.
• Ability to manage expectations of a large and diverse central and regional marketing team. Strong orientation to collaborate.
