Job Description
Design and Development:
• Create innovative sportswear designs, including apparel and accessories that align with brand aesthetics and market trends.
• Develop technical specifications, sketches, and prototypes for new products.
• Collaborate with the product development team to ensure that designs meet performance, fit, and manufacturing requirements.
Trend Research:
• Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, materials, and technologies in sportswear.
• Analyze competitor products and consumer preferences to inform design decisions.
• Stay updated on advancements in fabric technology, sustainable materials, and production techniques.
Material Selection:
• Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories that enhance the performance, durability, and style of the products.
• Work with suppliers to source high-quality, innovative materials that meet design and functional requirements.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to ensure alignment on design vision and product goals.
• Present design concepts and collections to internal stakeholders and incorporate feedback into final designs.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with manufacturers to ensure accurate production and quality control.
Technical Design:
• Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for each design.
• Ensure that all designs meet the brand's fit, function, and performance standards.
• Oversee sample development, fittings, and revisions to ensure that the final product meets design intent.
Skill Requirement
• Good knowledge of fabric material, design details and fabric construction
• Produce sketches, mock-ups, and digital renderings to bring design concepts to life
• Understanding of application of fabrications and an assortment of trims
• Collaborate with internal teams to Design innovative and on-trend apparels and accessories goods that resonate with our target audience
Minimum candidate qualifications
• Degree in Fashion, similar related field
• Strong understanding of performance apparel, fit, and functional requirements in sportswear.
• 3 years of experience in ACTIVEWEAR/SPORTSWEAR
• Ability to interpret fashion trends and translate them into commercial designs.
• Sound knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a must
• Experience in CLO 3D and V Stitcher will be added advantage
• Advanced visual and written communication skills
• Some to advanced knowledge of fabrics across categories
