This is why SunsetCare Home is searching for an Activities Assistant with a creative flair to join our community. This is a permanent, part-time position, working on rotating days with occasional weekend work and an increase in hours to cover leave on occasion.

In this role, you will be supporting the Activities Coordinator, identifying the leisure activity needs of each of the Sunset Care Home residents based on their interests, preferences, and abilities and contribute to the planning and implementation of individual and group activities programmes.

Hours & Roster Details:

Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
Hours: Average 30 hours per week
Shift Time: 11am - 6pm
Roster Pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly roster across Monday - Sunday)
Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Participate and contribute to both individual and group programme activities for our 122 residents across rest home, hospital, and dementia levels of care.
Contribute to the review and assessment of the residents' individual activities programme.
Actively promote a homely, stimulating, and pleasant environment for the residents and their families.
Develop and maintain excellent internal and external communication networks to support the activities programme.
About You

An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level is preferred.
Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable.
Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents.
Demonstrate outstanding communication skills.
A fun personality with a creative flair.
A clean, full driver’s licence is preferable, as you may drive the van for resident outings.
