Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Activities Coordinator, Fraternity and Sorority Life, enhances the fraternity and sorority experience by fostering community, supporting educational programs, and ensuring alignment with university values. This position strengthens student engagement, promotes hazing prevention, and advances inclusive leadership development across the CSUN Greek community.

Provides advisement and program support to the Independent Greek Council (IGC), National PanHellenic Council (NPHC), and the United Sorority and Fraternity Council (USFC).
Develops and implements comprehensive new member education programming.
Plans and organizes the annual Hazing Prevention Week programming.
Supports the development and design of fraternity and sorority web pages and social media accounts, ensuring information is current, accurate, and meets universal design accessibility standards.
Annually develop and implement the chapter standards program.
Reviews and approves recruitment and intake plans for chapters in IGC, NPHC, and USFC seeking to recruit new members.
Advises Gamma Sigma Alpha and Order of Omega honor societies and supports and/or coordinates induction programs as necessary.
Supports PREP (Pre-Recruitment Education Program) online education, CSUN Greek Orientation programs, and post-initiation/crossing workshops.
Develops ongoing marketing efforts geared towards hazing education and prevention education.
Monitors online PREP completion rates and verifies that students completed the program prior to receiving any invitation for membership.
Works with campus partners annually to review curriculum for PREP, ensuring that it contains current and accurate information on hazing, alcohol, and Title IX.
Benchmarks programs and services with other fraternity and sorority programs.
Supports the overall mission of the Matador Involvement Center, attending department, divisional, and university meetings, events, trainings, and programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a job-related field.
Equivalent to two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field.
A Master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of fraternity and sorority governance structures, recruitment and intake processes, and chapter operations within a university environment. Skilled in advising multiple councils and organizations, facilitating leadership development, and applying university policies and procedures to support compliance, community engagement, and student success.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, council officers, university administrators, and national or regional fraternity/sorority representatives. Demonstrated skill in coordinating meetings, assessing chapter performance, supporting educational initiatives, and representing the university at major fraternity and sorority events and consortium gatherings.
Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum design, training facilitation, and educational programming for college student populations. Skilled in developing and implementing new member education initiatives that address risk management, hazing prevention, ******* and drug awareness, ****** violence prevention, and values-based leadership development.
Ability to design, update, and deliver training and resource materials for students and advisors, including handbooks and online education tools. Demonstrated skill in organizing large-scale prevention campaigns such as Hazing Prevention Week and promoting awareness through effective marketing and communication strategies.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Classification: Student Services Professional II / 3082 / 1
The anticipated HIRING RATE is: $5083 per month. The salary range for this classification is: $5083 - $7228 per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
