At Finity, you’ll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team working alongside actuaries, data scientists, statisticians, management consultants, engineers and software developers.

The Role
We are looking for Actuarial Analysts to join our consulting team in either Sydney or Melbourne. Analysts at Finity gain exposure to a wide range of work, with opportunities to contribute to projects across general insurance, climate risk, injury and disability schemes and software product development.

Working alongside experienced consultants and industry leaders, you will support project delivery while continuing to develop your technical, consulting and communication skills. Our collaborative team structure provides early exposure to diverse clients, projects and actuarial applications.

Key responsibilities
Analyse complex financial, operational and claims data to support client decisions
Develop and maintain actuarial models and analytical tools (typically in Excel, R, Python and SQL)
Assess the reliability, appropriateness and limitations of source data
Assist with interpreting model outputs to generate meaningful, actionable insights for clients
Support consultants and senior team members in delivering high-quality client work, including reports, presentations and communication materials
Working across different project types including valuations, pricing, capital management, product development and more
Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to solving business problems
Continue developing actuarial, analytical and consulting skills through on-the-job learning.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or a related quantitative discipline.
At least 2 years’ experience in an actuarial, analytical or consulting role (or equivalent internship experience).
Currently progressing towards actuarial qualifications, or intention to pursue actuarial exams.
Experience or exposure to general insurance reserving, pricing, or other actuarial work is desirable.
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving capability.
Comfortable working with complex datasets and performing data analysis.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; exposure to R, Python or SQL is desirable
Curious, collaborative, and eager to build consulting skills and commercial awareness.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to learn and contribute to client-facing work.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within project teams.
