Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced actuary with expertise in breakage analysis to join our team. As an actuary specializing in breakage analysis, you will play a crucial role in redemption and revenue recognition analysis and financial impact assessments. A background in the aviation industry is not required, however, a strong background in actuarial science and a proven track record in breakage analysis are essential.
Responsibilities:
Conduct breakage analysis to evaluate the financial impact of unused ticket credits, loyalty program points, redemption rates and other contractual obligations within the aviation industry.
Conduct in-depth analysis of historical data, industry trends and benchmarks, and market dynamics to identify patterns, anomalies, and factors influencing breakage rates and customer redemption behavior.
Perform financial modelling and forecasting to evaluate the impact of breakage rate assumption and expiration policies on costs of redemption, revenue recognition and financial statement outcomes.
Forecast future breakage rates and incorporate them into financial projections of loyalty program revenues and overall airline performance.
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate breakage analysis results that can be incorporated into financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Analyze revenue recognition policies across different contract terms, under both IFRS and GAAP.
Collaborate with auditors to address inquiries and provide necessary documentation and support.
Stay up to date with industry regulations, accounting standards, and best practices related to financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements:
● Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics Statistics, or a related field.
● Proven experience as an actuary with expertise in breakage analysis and revenue recognition.
● Proficiency in statistical analysis software and actuarial modelling tools.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
● Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts effectively.
● Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams in the aviation industry.
