About the Role

The Community Compliance Team is seeking a capable and organised Administration Officer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys providing high‑quality administrative support, keeping systems and processes running smoothly, and being a reliable point of contact for staff and the community. Working closely with the Coordinators, Team Leaders and field officers, the position ensures administrative systems, databases and registers are accurately maintained and that reporting, correspondence and permit processing are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The role is a key contact point for customer enquiries, complaints and requiring sound judgement, attention to detail and a compassionate, solutions‑focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high‑quality administrative support to the Community Compliance & Amenity team, including team leader, coordinators and field officers
Process and manage permits, registrations across animal management, local laws, fire prevention and parking services
Maintain accurate records, registers and databases (including Objective) to support reporting, compliance and decision‑making
Receive, triage and respond to complex customer enquiries with professionalism and empathy Allocate customer requests to officers and monitor progress to ensure timely resolution
Assist with data collection, statistical reporting and income monitoring
Support continuous improvement of administrative systems and processes to enhance service delivery
Work collaboratively within a diverse team to deliver responsive, customer‑focused services to the community
About you

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:

Demonstrated experience providing high‑quality administrative support in a busy, customer‑focused environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy
Well‑developed customer service skills, including the ability to respond to complex enquiries and sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy
Proven attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate records, registers and databases
Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and business systems to support reporting, correspondence and data management
The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also using initiative and sound judgement within established procedures
An understanding of, or willingness to learn, regulatory and compliance‑based services within a local government setting
A commitment to Council’s REACH values and delivering respectful, accountable and responsive service to a diverse community
