Job Description
Your new role:
In this role, you'll support optimal nursing workforce deployment by maintaining accurate rosters, coordinating staffing changes, and providing administrative support to the Nurse Manager - Daily Staffing Allocations and the After-Hours Nurse Manager. You'll be a key contact point for rostering, payroll queries, and unplanned leave, helping ensure the right staff are in the right place at the right time.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining accurate rosters, time and attendance records to support scheduling and payroll processing
Supporting unplanned leave by identifying relief staff and coordinating redeployment under nurse manager guidance
Responding to rostering and payroll queries via phone and email, including triaging unplanned leave calls
Booking agency staff as required and maintaining attendance and sign-on records

You're organised, calm under pressure, and comfortable juggling competing priorities in a busy healthcare environment. You take pride in accuracy, communicate clearly, and enjoy working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will bring:
Strong problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail
Excellent organisation and planning abilities
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office
The ability to quickly learn and work confidently in hospital information systems

About us:
The Nursing Resource Unit provides support and staffing solutions to clinical wards and units at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) and units across Metro South Health (MSH), 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
