Hourly rate of $42, plus Superannuation

About the Opportunity
The Fulham Correctional Centre currently has vacancies for Casual Weekend Administration Support Officers.
The primary objective of the position is to provide administration services for the processing of visitors into Fulham Correctional Centre and the scheduling of in-person visits and virtual visits.
About the Role
The primary duties of the role are:
Processing and reception of visitors for prisoners, official visitors and community contractors into the Centre.
Processing verification of prisoner visitors into Fulham Correctional Centre.
Cash handling and receipting of monies.
General reception enquiries.
Computer data input into the Prisoner Information Management System (PIMS).
Manage the scheduling of in-person and virtual visits.
Rotate duties between the front reception processing sessions and the required administrative duties in the visits office on an AM/ PM rotation during scheduled visits days.
Maintain office systems including the filing and information retrieval systems.
Other Administrative Support Services, as directed.
About the You
Candidates should have the following:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to liaise with the public from varying social and ethnic backgrounds.
Experience in answering phones, transferring calls and reception duties.
Sound keyboarding skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and accuracy in data entry.
Experience in cash handling and receipt processing.
Experience in office procedures and in handling confidential documents and information with accuracy and discretion.
Problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in a correctional environment.
Previous experience working in a correctional setting, other fast-paced environment or previous experience with information management systems would be advantageous.
Due to the nature of the role of ASO position, to be successful, applicants will require the ability to work directly with prisoners in a correctional environment, complying with the security policies and procedures of the Centre.
GEO will require applicants to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances from Victoria Police and Corrections Victoria (at GEO's expense). The successful applicants are also required to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencing employment.
