Description

The Fellowship Administrator is responsible for the operational administration of the subspecialty Fellowship Medical Education Programs, such as PGME, UME & CME. The secretary may have administrative responsibility for learners in different levels of a program or defined sections. The Administrator provides planning, policy and human resources support services for the program. The incumbent provides administrative support for the educational programs within the Department, following the policies and procedures of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), the University, the Zone and the Department, Section and or Division. This position may be the first point of contact among the educational program, the Department, Section, Division or Program Director. This position requires communication with individuals throughout Canada, the USA and many other nations. The incumbent must demonstrate a sound understanding of the education program and its curriculum and must have the ability to act independently and exercise judgment in the execution of learner-related inquiries. The secretary must be self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

As an Administrative Support V, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. certificate in office or business administration).

A minimum of five years of senior administrative experience in a teaching hospital/multidisciplinary medical or educational institution is required to understand the complex relationship between clinical operations and educational programming. Graduate from a post-secondary secretarial/business administration program diploma. Demonstrated intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of personal computers and various network and software applications(e.g.: MS Office; Outlook Web Access (calendar & email), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..

Previous experience in medical education is highly desired. Would be helpful to have experience with specialist programs such as Medline Reference Manager/Endnote, ONE45, and Peoplesoft. Bookkeeping/Accounting certificate preferred. Medical Terminology is an asset.
